POSITION SUMMARY

Detailer thoroughly cleans interior and exterior of each truck. They prepare trucks for vacuuming, washing, and other cleaning duties. They will inspect the paint for necessary touch ups and/or buffing. Also, a detailer will review checklists to ensure all tasks are completed on time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Thoroughly cleans interior and exterior of each truck.
  2. Prepares truck for waxing, polishing, vacuuming, washing, and other cleaning duties.
  3. Assembles loose equipment specified for each truck after all cleaning duties are done.
  4. Reviews checklist to ensure all tasks are completed.
  5. Inspects and repairs paint for necessary touch ups and /or buffing.
  6. Takes final photos of the completed truck.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

K

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 6 months of related experience is preferred.

S

Skills:

Language:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills:

  • Ability to learn how to run a computer terminal or PC.
  • No prior experience required (Incumbent will look up and/or enter information into a pre-formatted screen).

A

Abilities:

  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely is required.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
