MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST- CHILD & ADOLESCENT FOCUSED
MINO-BIMAADIZIWIN WELLNESS CLINIC MINNEAPOLIS- PEDIATRIC PROGRAM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is primarily responsible for providing culturally responsive mental health evaluation, diagnostic assessment and treatment for Native American children and adolescents, and their families within the scope of specialty and training. The mental health therapist has regular case consultation and weekly clinical meetings. Opportunity for a hybrid position working on-site at the clinic and providing telehealth from home per applicant’s experience, case load and qualifications. Individual clinical supervision is provided to this position weekly for those working towards independent licensure and group supervision is offered monthly. This position is a full-time position with benefits, professional development stipend and free on-site trainings. This position reports to the Program Director. Starting Salary $37/hour; DOQ and experience. Mino- Bimaadiziwin Wellness Center is an approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site and Pediatric Specialty site.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides culturally informed mental health evaluation, diagnostic assessment, individual and group therapy to Native American children and adolescents (in-clinic and via telehealth)
Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion with a focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness, and reflection
Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to treat clients’ mental health concerns and meet cultural needs
Maintains good working relationships with colleagues, staff, and community partners
Abides by program clinical protocols, policies and procedures
Meets program expectations of quotas and caseload
Coordinates care with internal and external providers and makes referrals as necessary
Engages in regular case consultation and attends team meetings
Records treatment, coordination and completes clinical assessments in EHR in a timely and accurate manner
Remains in good standing with Minnesota state board as related to their licensure
Maintains knowledge of current and culturally appropriate mental health care practices through continuing education and trainings
Adheres to telehealth agreement and clinic policy regarding telework if applicable
Other duties as assigned by the program director and essential to the program
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-degree (MA) or (PhD) in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, family and marriage counseling, or any other relevant behavioral health degree
Current Licensed Mental Health Professional Certification (LICSW, LMFT, LP, LPCC) in MN (or pre-licensed working towards becoming a fully licensed professional)
Direct experience working with Native American communities is highly recommended
